AWESOME

The Classic epoch. From the jungles, savannas and steppes comes an endless horde of bestial barbarians, washing over the armies of the capital. The alchemical fires of the Clockwork City burn day and night, forging them anew. Deep beneath the surface, the countless tribes of the Undergribblies live on a steady feast of naive adventurers. High above, the Sky Pirates dock their ships at the glorious cloud castles of the Thousand Pretty Princesses, there to wine and woo.

The Neo epoch. From the space between the stars, the horrors of the Host creep out, held in check only by the gallant Colour-coordinated Action Teams. Daring captains in spandex lead their crew to seek out new life, and probably sleep with it. In their wake, colony worlds spring up, run by a bevy of sinister corporations, but attracting all manner of Space Cowboys. At the galaxy's core, the Imperius Empire sends forth its finest and heaviest-armoured paladins to cleanse the world of evil.

Things are about to get incredibly AWESOME.

Action! Melodrama! Hyperbole! Angst! Stunts! Oversized Weapons! Hair! Exclamation! The world of AWESOME seeks to bring all these and more. When rifts open into the mysterious world of Crossover, the finest hearts and minds of two epochs take the plunge, there to vie for the favour of the four divine aspects – Shiny, Spiky, Icky and Fluffy.

AWESOME uses a novel system designed to enhance the flavour and style of play, including:

  • Onomatopoeic damage calls – POW!, SHING!, FZAM! and more
  • Stunts and chants used for high-end techniques
  • Quick, easy system of stickers to represent game objects
  • Bonuses for fancy, improbable hairstyles
  • Simple character creation, with sixteen different professions to explore
  • Benefits for exposition, coordinated outfits, battle anthems and more
  • Broad world design focusing on providing ideas, not restrictions
  • A bevy of customisable races – Mecha, Furries, Brutes and Gribblies
  • Soulgems and cortical stacks: Characters get off the floor and back into play quickly

Welcome to the wiki for AWESOME, the live-action roleplaying game of dramatic excess. The wiki is here to allow rules and setting information to be released for reference and discussion; feel free to contribute to the talk page for any article. Whilst AWESOME isn't a collaborative project in the truest sense of the word, suggestions and ideas are more than welcome and, if sufficiently cool, will likely make it into the main body.
